ePortfolio Project
While in Rio I had the opportunity to deliver a talk at Estácio de Sá University about ePortfolios for learning, assessment and showcase. The audience was basically teacher education students. They were very interested and I believe there is a possibility of going back there in December or January to lead a workshop on ePortfolios. Looking forward to it! Any suggestions?
trip to Rio de Janeiro
Hello folks,
I have just gotten back from Rio. I worked for two weeks in the Rio Metro Schools Board of Education. It was a great experience. I am an "international relations personnel" for the EDUCOPEDIA Project. It is a project of technology implementation in the Rio Metro Schools. Ask me more about it and I will be more than glad to share.

ePortfolio Project culminating event
I would like to share with you guys the great sense of achievement I experienced today. Last semester I was asked to deliver a workshop to a few Elementary Ed. pre-service teachers. At that time they were reluctant about starting their ePortfolios. I showed them some benefits of the ePortfolio within Scholar and shared with them the same guided instructions that I had developed for the ETLab GAs with regards to creating an ePOrtfolio. That class is graduating this semester and today was the day that they actually formally delivered the final version of their ePortfolios to their faculty. Luckily I was invited and had the pleasure of witnessing their achievements. I felt really honored for having been a little part of it. They did a great job. I was impressed and I could hear from them how important it was for them to go through the process of creating their ePortfolios and how proud they are now. The ePortfolio allowed them to document their growth over time. They could register their physical proof of outcomes and now they can look back and reflect on their own growth. Amazing! Their Professors did a great job in inspiring them, giving them a sense of purpose for doing all that and coaching them throughout the process. I am sure that will also be useful for them when they go job-hunting because they are not only saying that they can teach or they can use technology, they can demonstrating it in a very bold way.
