Week - April 19 to 23

Busy, busy week!
1. I managed to finish the SMART Board tutorials. Uploaded it to www.tinyurl.com/elzacruz-samrtboard.  I believe Diana is going to upload it to the ETLab page.

2. I've made a comparative table between the SMART Board and the Promethean Active Board, but there is still a lot I need to know about the Promethean because I have not devoted as much time to it as I did to the SMART Board, which was my primary assignment. I am still waiting for the opportunity to meet with Xin and Andy to complete the job. I am available whenever they are. If we share our knowledge, we can do a better job.Uploaded it to www.tinyurl.com/elzacruz-smartboard.

3. I wrote my annual report and uploaded it to my ePortfolio at: www.tinyurl.com/elzacruz under the assistantship tab.

Next week I will be working on the comparative table some more.

  1. Elza and Andy, I think we can use the google doc to share the table of comparing SMART Board Promethean, so that everyone can easily view, edit and revise.

I am also available whenever I am in the lab to discuss with you.

    How about your ideas?

  2. I agree that Elza, Xin, and Andy have some time to compare functions of Smartboard and Active Board. However, since you are all busy for yor own project, can we hold this until the end of semester? I am hoping we reach to the point to compare things naturally as you present your end product. I will find a way that I can do something :-) Believe it or not, I am kind of good at comparing things!!

  3. Elza, I reviewed your Smartboard tutoral. This is a great work! Especially, I liked the third one(Tutorial 3: Creating an Activity with the SMART Notebook Software and Lesson Activity Toolkit 2.0).

However, I have a suggestion. Since this is a video file that requires Quick time player embeded in web, I wonder if we can get a "text-based" scripts. I think if you can provide both the vidoe and the narrations (text), we can save our time to just listen and watch the video clips.

It will be also good idea to provide an overvew of each tutoral. I think quick time player has some limitations for this function. Let's see this as an example: http://www.wikihow.com/Grow-an-Herb-Garden-Indoors-Year-Round
I don't want you to change your ways because this seems almost done! But ... we may want to explore the functions that "howcast" provide. This video clip allows people to see the steps and tips; and to skip several steps by providing the little boxes when we go overs the control bar...I will share this example with others! :-)

  4. Elza, You really use the technologies that we have access to very well. I like your use of the scholar site to deliver your smartboard. I also think that it is a good idea to post the annual report to the eportfolio.
