New Tutorials for the New SMART Tech Web Site

As I told you at the end of last week, the SMART Technologies web Site completely changed. Some things got better but most are still very confusing. For example, you click less to get to your point of interest, but it takes you ages to find out where what you need is. The Website is very wordy, the titles of the sections are not intuitive and they use the same words and very similar icons with different functions.

Anyway... I had to change the two tutorials again (how to download the SMART Notebook Software and How to locate, download, edit and save a ready-made multimedia interactive activity to use in the classroom). The third tutorial is still good because it does not refer to the web site but the Software itself, so it will be good until they launch a new version of the Software.

I talked to the SMART Technologies customer service department and they say that they do not intend to make any more changes in the Web Site for the rest of this year. I doubt it! The Web Site is not really functional as it is now.

Another thing is that they now charge for most of the online training.

Here is the new version of the tutorial. It is a slide share. As the semester is almost over I will not have the time to re-do them as they were before, as a video. But, I belive this solution is good enough for the time being. What do you think?
